Before going to the balloon fiesta, we took a day trip to Santa Fe for lunch and a little wine tasting. Our lunch choice was Mexican food, of course, and we ended up at Gabriel’s – the same place we took the kids to on our Angel Fire trip all those years ago. Gabriel’s is north of town; the food is really good and they have a nice patio. Although, we couldn’t sit on the patio because it was raining!
Santa Fe Wineries
Because of the light rain, we didn’t walk the whole town square, but we did check out three wineries. Yes, they make wine in New Mexico, too. Vivac, Gruet, and Noisy Water were the three we tried out and all were fairly good. Our palates tend towards California wines, but we like to taste what they are making in different regions.
Santa Fe is a beautiful city and we hope to spend more time there in the future!
